The Edge Advanced Trade Planner combines visual trade planning with automated risk calculations, allowing traders to quickly plan and execute trades while maintaining consistent risk management. The following sections explain the tool's interactive chart elements, customizable risk parameters and settings.

Chart Trader Panel:

A. Plan Long Button – Initiates a long trade plan setup with trade parameters and places draggable lines on the chart for entry/exit planning.

B. Plan Short Button – Initiates a short trade plan setup with trade parameters and places draggable lines on the chart for entry/exit planning.

C. Clear Plan Button – Removes all trade planning lines and resets the trade planner interface.

D. Track Market On/Off Toggle – Enables/disables real-time market price tracking for the entry price line.

E. Fixed RR (Reward-Risk) – Enables fixed reward-risk for trade planning. The take profit line with adjust to your preset RR ratio when moving the entry price line or the stop loss price line.

F. Risk Type Settings – Shows the selected risk management approach (i.e. Fixed Contracts, Fixed $ Value, % of Balance).

G. Max Contracts Setting – Shows the set number of maximum contracts allowed to be enter in a single trade.

H. Execute Button – Triggers the trade execution based on the planned parameters. Single click will execute an entry order based at the blue planned line with the associated number of contracts based on the risk management calculations.  Once the entry is filled, the stop loss and take profit orders will be placed at the associated planned levels.  This buttons is disable when no planned lines are active.  

I. Move To Breakeven Button – Adjusts stop loss to entry price plus a set number of ticks once your trade is in profit.  This button will only be enabled when the current price is greater than the entry price + the preset number of ticks.

J. Close Button – Closes the current position/trade and/or will clear the planned lines.  Note: This will only closes orders that were executed by the strategy.  If you have other orders open outside of what was placed by the strategy, make sure those are accounted for manually.

A. Planned Trade Information Panel – Displays the planned trade metrics:

  • Entry Price
  • Take Profit Price, Number Of Points, Number Of Ticks, $ Value Profit
  • Stop Loss Price Price, Number Of Points, Number Of Ticks, $ Value Loss
  • Planned Reward to Risk Ratio
  • Quantity Of Contracts To Enter
 

B. Planned Take Profit Line (Green Line) – Draggable line that visually sets the profit target level dynamically displaying:

  • Take Profit Price
  • Points of Profit
  • Ticks of Profit
  • Dollar Value of Profit
 

C. Planned Entry Line (Blue Line) – Draggable line visually sets the entry level displaying:

  • Entry Price
  • Number of Contracts (calculated from risk management settings)
  • Current Risk/Reward Ratio (updates dynamically as stop loss or entry level moves)
 

D. Planned Stop Loss Line (Red Line) – Draggable line visually sets the stop loss level dynamically displaying:

  • Stop Loss Price
  • Points of Risk
  • Ticks of Risk
  • Dollar Value of Risk

Property Descriptions:

1. Risk Management

  • Risk Management Type: Determines the risk management type used for calculating the position size. Options include Fixed Contracts, Fixed Dollar Value, and Percentage of Balance.
  • Fixed Contracts: The fixed number of contracts to trade when the Risk Management Type is set to Fixed Contracts.
  • % Of Balance: The percentage of account balance to risk when the Risk Management Type is set to Percentage of Balance.
  • Fixed $ Value: The fixed dollar amount to risk when the Risk Management Type is set to Fixed Dollar Value.
  •  Max Contracts: The maximum number of contracts allowed for a single trade, regardless of the selected risk management type when using the strategy.  Note: This will not override the Chart Trader Qty Selector.
 
2. Misc.

  • Fixed RR Value: The fixed risk-reward ratio value used when the Fixed RR button is enabled. 
  • Entry Offset (Ticks): The number of ticks to offset the entry price from the current market price when placing the entry order.
  • Move To Breakeven + Ticks: The number of ticks to add above (long) or below (short) to the entry price when moving the stop loss to breakeven. For example with a setting of 2; when long and price is greater than 2 ticks above your entry and you press the ‘Move To Breakeven’ button, it will move your stop loss 2 ticks above your entry price.  Note: this only applies for entries entered by the strategy.
  • Show Account In Chart Trader panel: When enabled it will display the account information the strategy is enabled for on the Chart Trader panel.
  • Chart Trader Panel Text Color:  Changes the color of the UI text that is in the Chart Trader panel.  Helpful to change if you are running a light or dark skin theme.
 
3.  Planned Lines

  • Initial Stop Loss Offset (Ticks):  When planned lines are initially placed, this sets the initial distance above/below the entry line.  For example, if you are trading NQ, you may want the initial placement further apart (i.e. 80 ticks) before adjusting than if you are trading ES .
  • Initial Take Profit Offset (Ticks): The number of ticks to offset the take profit price from the entry price.
  • Lines Width: The width of the planned lines placed on the chart when you click Plan Long or Plan Short buttons, such as the entry, stop loss, and take profit lines.
  • Entry Line Color: The color of the planned entry line drawn on the chart.
  • Stop Loss Line Color: The color of the planned stop loss line drawn on the chart.
  • Take Profit Line Color: The color of the planned take profit line drawn on the chart.
  • Entry Text Color: The color of the text displaying the planned entry price information.
  • Stop Loss Text Color: The color of the text displaying the planned stop loss price information.
  • Take Profit Text Color: The color of the text displaying the planned take profit price information.
  • Planned Line Values Font Size: The font size of the text displayed on the planned lines, such as the entry, stop loss, and take profit prices and associated information.
  • Planned Line Text Spacing: Sets the spacing between the planned line text information and the planned lines themselves.
 
4. Planned Trade Info:

  • Trade Info Position: Specifies the position of the planned trade information text on the chart. Options include Top Right, Top Left, Bottom Right, Bottom Left, and Off.
  • Text Vertical Offset: The vertical offset in pixels for positioning the trade information text on the chart. You may want to adjust up or down depending if you have other overlapping information on your charts.
  • Trade Info Text Color: The color of the text displaying the trade information in the trade info panel on the chart.
  • Show Points: Determines whether to display the points information on the planned lines and in the trade info panel.
  • Show Ticks: Determines whether to display the ticks information on the planned lines and in the trade info panel.
  • Show Profit/Loss: Determines whether to display the profit/loss information on the planned lines and in the trade info panel.
